Excerpts from Sister Welker's email:hello my beautiful family: how are you guys doing this week: all is well with me: i am very happy: we had a pretty okay week: well i will start off first by talking about the phone call: it will be at one oclock my monday: your sunday the 24th:. . . you can call me at this number: . . . this is where my companion and i will be staying for three days: just to let you know there will be someone who will answer in french: i will try and be at the phone by my one oclock: but if i dont answer just say my name and they will give me the phone: there will be four of us at the apartment: my companion will be the only one who does not speak english: so you can speak in english: they will understand: i cant wait to talk to you. . .i have a question: i was reading my emails that you sent me and i saw the name jayden a lot: i never asked you before but who is that? i didnt recognize the name: well we had a rental car this week: it was a small little car: it was fun though: we had only for two days: we had to drive down to the city two times this week: oh how i love my sector: it is so not the city: there is just too many people and cars: eek: i like the peace and the quiet: but our car is now fixed: yay: we had a branch activity the other day: it was a lot of fun: we dance a line dance: it was funny: everyone really liked our dance: especially the kids: one of the elders was santa clause too: it was so funny: i felt like i was back in hawaii: i got your package the other day: man mom you wrapped them really good: i tried to peek a little but i couldnt see anything: and mom sorry but ya gotta wait till christmas: hey you can open it christmas eve if you want: i hope you guys like it: i wish i could give ya more: i gave a talk yesterday at church : i was scared to death: but it was okay: it is over now: thank goodness: hey i am still practising the tamure: i am getting better now: i do that as my sport in the mornings: it is really good exercise: it is hard to do: but it is fun: well my family: that is all the exciting news: i am sure i will have more to tell you when i talk to you on monday: i miss you so much and love ya so much: yay i get to hear your voices in one week: cant wait:

Excerpts from Sister Welker's email:hello my family: yay i am glad that you got my companions letter: she really wanted to write you but she doesnt know any english; so she asked me to translate for her: she is super cool: we mostly will be changed soon if not this week than the next: we are not ready to separate yet: we work really well together we get along great: we dont want to change but we will do the will of the lord: i actually dont mind serving with any of the sisters who are here: they are all super cool: i just really want to stay in boulouparis: there is a lot of work to do here: i am not ready to leave yet: i would like to stay here until the end of my mission but i dont know if that is possible or not: we shall see: our car was hit the other day: we thankfully were not in the car: we were at the chapel at our district meeting: after our meeting we came out to see a huge dent in the side of our car and a little note with a name and a number: the zone leaders are taking care of it: but we might get a rental car for a little while: fun huh: well i got hit in the head the other day by my companion by accident: i was outside watering our plant that is just outside the door and to the right: there is a little faucet out there and i was putting our little cup for watering over the faucet when my companion went to open the window: it hit me on the top middle of my head: it knocked me over too: whew did it hurt: i had blurry vision for a second: after a little while though it went away: i am going to explain our window: it is not of glass it is metal: it is just kind of like a metal door when you open there is no screen or anything it is just open: if you close it you cant see out: it is not like the windows in america: my companion felt so bad: our neighbor was out side and saw it happen too: it was a little embarassing but funny at the same time: but nothings wrong: i didnt even get a bump: we have had two really good weeks in a row: i think the reason is that we have had really good planning sessions; and we have been working hard: it is really paying off: we have possibly two baptisms in january yay: i am so excited: and there is a baptism this saturday for lolasio: so happy: i saw him yesterday actually: he was so excited to see me: it was so cute: we went down to the city with a member yesterday to watch the broadcast of the first presidencys christmas message: it was good to see everyone: has been a long time: i received a letter from president watanabe the other day. . . i finally got your manilla envelope: i sent the papers to my mission president for byu: is there other papers that i need to fill out? i thought there was like an essay or something: hey it is mango season here: oh my gosh i have missed mangos: they are so yummy: they are small though compared to hawaii: but oh so good: i ate two today: the plan right now is that i will be calling you my christmas probably around one oclock my time: so seven your time: i hope that is not too late: and i hope everyone can be there: it is not totally sure yet but it is just the plan right now: i will let you know for sure next week: i love you all tons and tons: have a good week: mom dont stress too much about christmas and dad dont work too hard: bob you keep dating those models love ya and miss ya: two weeks: yay

Excerpts from Sister Welker's email:hello my beautiful parents: oh how i miss you and love you so much: this week passed by sooo sooo fast: i cant believe it: . . . i cant believe that it is only eight degrees in utah: eek: i am scared to return: i am really enjoying the eighty degree plus weather here: i am getting really tan: i love it: my hair is turning blond thought: i am not really enjoying that: but hey it is a change: when i get home i need to definitely go get my hair done: it is not the same length or color: but i am not going to worry about it right now: i usually wear it in a pony tail anyways because it is so hot:. . . have you guys talked in church yet? i am scared to go to a big utah ward again: i liked the one in hawaii but i am just going to go with a good attitude: well mom you said that i cannot open my gifts until christmas so i just want to say that if you happen to get a gift in the mail from someone you cant open it until christmas too: okay: i am getting really excited to talk to you in just three weeks: yay: it feels like forever since we last talked: i am having family withdrawls: well this week we helped our branch start building a house for a sister in the branch: she lives in this tiny little squat: you cant even move around in the house: but she was too poor to finish the house her husband started before he died: so she has been living in the squat: but the church just passed her welfare help request so we started building: oh man is it hard work: we were trying to work in the yard trying to dig holes for the plumbing pipes and what not: i was pikking and shoveling like no other: it was hard work: but i really enjoyed it: i really felt like someone was helping me because i had a lot more strength than i ever had before: it felt like someone was just beside me helping me do the work: it was a great feeling: it was for a good cause too: we left with smiles on our faces and the next day even though we were so sore we had smiles on our faces when the sister bore her testimony at church of her gratefulness of all that helped: it was a great experience: the house is not done we are going to continue to help each weekend until it is done: hopefully before christmas: we shall see: we have a branch christmas party the 16 every auxillary is doing a dance: there is a dance tahitian; melanesian; the haka: and guess what the missionaries get to do: a country line dance: i get to teach the missionaries it to because i am the only one who knows country line dancing: it should be fun: i am excited: there is just four of us missionaries so it should be funny: well my family that is all that happened this week: i hope you have an amazing week: i love you all bunches: hugs and bisous:

Excerpts from Sister Welker's email:hello my beautiful family: oh how i miss you: i cant wait to talk to you in less than a month yay: i am so excited: i am even more excited to see you in six months: it is kind of crazy that i will be leaving that soon: my mission president is already talking to me a little bit about it: what it is going to be like and so forth: and all the other missionaries too: it is a little distracting sometimes when they bring it up but i just push it out of mind and focus all my energy all of my heart on the work: i am one of the old missionaries now: in about a month i will be one of the oldes sisters: crazy huh: who would of thought i would make it: whew: i am glad i did i am glad i didnt come home when i wanted too: i am glad i stuck it out: because the second half of my mission has been the best: i have learned so much: i have changed a lot too: even my mission president said that: he said that you wont recognize me when i get home: and he meant not in looks but mentally and spiritually: well i have been really practising my tahitian dance skills: oh man it is difficult and it hurts after awhile: but it is really good exercise: i am slowing getting used to it: so by the time i get home i will be a pro: he he: doubt it but hey better than i am now: i think maybe i will try and find a place to take lessons: i really find joy in dancing: it makes me happy:. . .: i wish i could have been there when you watched the byu game: it sounds like it was really exciting: i wish i could have seen thomas pick you up mom: well my voice totally left me for a couple of days: it was really hard to do the work because nobody could hear me but it worked out okay: wednesday we went down to the city for our interviews with president ardern and i got really sick: i think i had the flu or something but i got the chills: i was so cold but it was a really hot day: i was in a sweater and wrapped in a blanket: a lot of the missionaries were gathered in a room waiting and elder franklin asked me if i wanted a blessing and i told him yes: so he quieted everyone and two elders gave me a blessing: the elder who did the oil was really nervous because it was only his second time doing it: it was really an awesome experience: the spirit was really strong: with all the missionaries in there with me: the next day was zone conference: i felt a little better but i still did not have a good voice: but i gave my talk: it went really well: i have to admit i am glad it is over: zone conference was really good as normal: it was really long though: it went from ten to five thirty: i was spiritually drained by the end: . . .i had a good interview with president: he is always so inspired: i love it: i really know that he is called of god: he is amazing: we had a pday zone: all the missionaries got together and we went to a musuem: it was really cool: it was a military musuem: it talked all about the american militay: they did a lot for this island: everyone here is so grateful for the americans: it was a cool musuem: maybe if we ever come back here dad you might want to go: you listen to a little headset and it explains everything: it is cool: i got ernies package: it was so cool: there was starbursts and animal cookies; lip gloss a little cute box and a make up bag and a birthday crown that was really cute: and pictures of the kids: oh i was so excited to see them: they have gotten so big: they are so adorable: i received a letter from president walker: it was really nice: he got me caught up on all the changes in the stake and all the new news: i had no idea that they added another ward: that is cool: and ken is the bishopric that is so cool: i also saw that my friend rusten is in a bishopbric also: he also told me all the missionaries who just got their call: three from our ward wow: . . .: i am really excited for them: well i love you all so much: i hope all is going well: and i hope you dont freeze too much: i am baking here: getting really tan: it is great: oh by the way my hair is getting really really light: the ends are completely blond right now: it is interesting: everyone is noticing too: the sun is really strong here: well i gotta run: love you take care:
